Illegal Dumping
Illegal dumping is most prevalent in areas where there is low visibility, such as dead ends, wooded areas, and vacant lots. As a property owner, you are responsible for those who illegally dump on your land. Complaints regarding illegal dumping should be reported to the Alamance County Sheriff and Town Code Enforcer.
Accumulation of Grass and/or Weeds
Failure to cut grass and/or weeds over 12 inches can result in a fine.
Trash
Any accumulation of rubbish, trash, junk, household items, construction materials, car parts or brush causing or threatening to cause a fire hazard or causing or threatening to cause the inhibition therein of rats, mice, snakes, vermin, or insects of any kind which is or may be dangerous, prejudicial or a nuisance to the public health while also devaluing neighboring properties.
Vacant/Abandoned Properties
The Town Code Enforcer is responsible for sending regular and certified mail to owners in regard to nuisances prohibited by the town.
Junk Vehicles
It shall be unlawful for the owner of real property or person entitled to the possession of more than one junked motor vehicle on a single real property, upon which a junked vehicle is located to leave or allow the vehicle to remain on the property after the vehicle has been ordered removed. Vehicles not removed by the date posted will be towed by the Town Code Enforcer.
- Automobile Storage Yard
Two or more untagged vehicles in a yard is considered a “junk yard”, which are only permissible in the zoned Business District of the Town of Green Level.
Graffiti
If you see any graffiti on any Town property, please contact the Code Enforcement Department so that it may be reported to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
Rooming & Boarding Properties
All request for rooming and boarding properties must go before the planning board for approval. Room and boarding properties must be adequately zoned for its “USE”.
Unsanitary Conditions
Any accumulation of animals, vegetable matter, or infestation that is offensive by virtue of odors or vapors or by the inhibition therein of rats, mice, snakes, vermin, or insects of any kind which is or may be dangerous, prejudicial or a nuisance to the public health. Complaints regarding the Health and Sanitation of any property in the town jurisdiction may be reported to the Town Code Enforcer and County Health Department.
Animal Control
Pets should not be left “unattended” to run loose. Owners are responsible for keeping their pets and animal waste off the properties of others. Those who impose of damages and/or injury to person(s) or property are subject to a fine. Complaints regarding animals should be reported to the Town Code Enforcer and the County Animal Control Division.
** Town of Green Level Code Enforcement will not be responsible for enforcing HOA’s rules and regulations.**
